We're six weeks from a baking extravaganza, and I'm starting to get excited! I got a new Taste of Home cookies magazine last night, and I've already filled it with post-it tabs on the recipes I'm considering. I know it seems far away still, but it's really not too soon to start thinking about what you want to bake, especially since we've set the goal to avoid overlap this year.
As you may have noticed, I've given the blog a bit of a freshening up, and I've added some new links to recipe sites. I've browsed through them before selecting them, and they all offer a wide variety of cookie, candy, and bar recipes at all skill levels. If you're looking for ideas, they offer a great place to start. Me, I have found many possible options for cookies, and I'm thinking I may do a bit of candy this year too!
We should hear soon about the confirmation of the baking location, and I'll pass that on as soon as I get word. Until then, let your baking imagination run wild! I'll be posting my selections here shortly, and you can add yours to the list then.
And one more thing...you'll notice to the right of this post are the details about the event. This is where you'll find the final location information. If you're a gmail user or if you have a Google account, you can sign in and RSVP. If you're comfortable with that, please feel free to do so. I believe that will allow you to get emails on new blog/event content when it's posted (or it will show up in the Reader). It will also allow us to see how many (and who) will be coming.
Keep an eye out for more details and updates coming soon. We'll be posting cookie lists, ingredient needs, and other information here in the coming weeks.
Enjoy the fall weather!
